Jo Hawkins Donovan is founder and president of Hawkins Donovan & Associates, Ltd., a Coaching, Coach Training and Psychotherapy firm. Jo’s advanced degrees are in Communication and Psychology. For six years she served on the faculty of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. She was a full-time consultant for a federal job-readiness program in West Virginia, and in Wisconsin worked for several years in the insurance industry developing and presenting programs promoting charitable giving within estate planning.
Five years after starting her own business, Jo received the Bank One Enterprise Award for the Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur in Wisconsin. Her drive to contribute to community results in active participation in many endeavors, including Professional Dimensions (past president), Start Smart Work/Family Committee, Milwaukee Public Schools Principal Coach Training Program, and the arts. Jo's monthly column on coaching is published in several business magazines and journals.
Jo provides powerful tools for building authentic relationships. She coaches individuals and teams through cultural change. Jo works with growing, energetic organizations where there is a commitment to professional development for every employee.
The Coach Training Partnership is a part of HDA that focuses on developing coaches within organizations. These "in-house" coaches then offer coaching to their colleagues and sustain the coaching model within their workplace.
In 2004, Jo received the prestigious Sacagawea Award from Professional Dimensions, for her work in the development of leadership among women business owners, and her years of trailblazing in service to the community.
Jo says "Life is a process of casting away fears" and her serious belief in fun seeps into her many roles at HDA.
